Directions & Maps The Guesthouse "La Tartaruga" is located 35 km west from Florence at 5 minutes drive away from the spa town of Montecatini Terme and 10 minutes away from the motorway exit of Montecatini Terme. This is how to get here: Per Road from St Bernard: Aosta Valley (A5), Vercelli (A26) (the stretch Vercelli-Genova is an agreeable three-lane motorway with very little traffic), Genova (A12), La Spezia, Lucca (A11) and get out at Montecatini Terme exit from St Gotthard: Lugano, Chiasso (A9), MIlano (A1), Parma (A15), La Spezia (A12), after Viareggio take the A11 to Lucca and get out at Montecatini Terme exit from the Brenner: Bolzano (A22), Verona (A22), Modena (A1). From Firenze take A11 in direction of Pisa-Lucca (A11) and get out at Montecatini Terme exit At the motorway exit of Montecatini Terme there is a telephone box. Feel free to call us. I would advise to stamp it on colour for a better rendering of the details. After the exit of the highway, turn right, in direction of MONSUMMANO TERME. Then immediately left in direction of PESCIA, LUCCA. Now drive straight out following the main street for about two kms, always in direction of PESCIA, LUCCA. At the fourth traffic light turn left, and keep driving in direction of PESCIA , LUCCA. At the fifth traffic light, turn right in direction MASSA COZZILE. Drive for another km and look for the indication VANGILE on your left. Follow the indication and drive through the village. After about 1 km, look for the road sign Via Catalani on your left and turn into it. Our house is the second on the right, is painted in a very light pink. A little private road on your right, that runs along to the pink- painted garden wall gets you to the entrance gate. Per Plane The airport of Pisa "Galileo Galilei" and the airport of Florence "Peretola" are at almost equal distance from Montecatini Terme. Pisa's one is bigger and more international flights land there. You can find in both of them several car rent agencies. (The LAZZI bus to Montecatini Terme stops near the Peretola airport). Airport of Galileo Galilei Pisa Airport of Peretola Florence Per Train When you arrive in Florence you can continue by train, taking the next train for Montecatini on the Viareggio line, or continue by bus, taking a blue colored bus from the LAZZI Company, just on the other side of the Piazza della Stazione (= Station Square) in direction of Montecatini - Lucca. The trains as well as the buses leave almost every hour. Montecatini Terme has two train stations: Montecatini - Monsummano and Montecatini - Centro. Get off at the second one. It is nearer from home, and there is a taxi station. You will also find a taxi station near the bus station. Alternatively, please tell us what time you arrive, and we would be glad to collect you.
